The Alma book- and stationary shop was Incipito jo’s cradle, in 2019. It has shuttered its doors at the end of 2025, leaving a cultural & social void in Pescia… On a wave of nostalgia & gratitude, before it was too late Incipito jo wished to return to where it was born. With an inexorably sentimental edition.
The six covers on display were those created for the fifth edition; affably hosted by the Hyle Book Festival, whose theme was ‘Il sogno continua immenso’ (‘The dream continues immense’). A theme that was well in keeping with the future of Corrado & Stefania (Alma’s souls).
Visitors were invited to handwrite – without competition – in loco, drawing inspiration from the covers & abandoning themselves to the emotions & sensations of the moment. The writing was done with natural graphite on cards produced in Italy, which are biodegradable and contain non-GMO seeds of various wildflowers (Alyssum, Antirrhinum majus, Clarkia, Gilia tricolor, Rudbeckia hirta, Silene).
All cards were displayed & photographed, you can visit them here. And all will be planted in spring 2026 in various sites in Pescia & its surroundings, generating human connections between writers & sowers. The words will whisper to the seeds during germination & thus enter into a life cycle & a dream that continues immense. Leaving perennial traces of Alma on the territory.
